Loving your Bottom: Nurturing and protecting your pelvic floor in childbirth

Many women worry about the effects of giving birth on their body, especially their perineum. In this workshop, you will learn how you are designed to stretch and release your baby without trauma, how to maximise the chances this will happen smoothly, and how to promote healing after birth. Appropriate for women having their first baby, or hoping the next one is easier. This is a women-only evening, so that no one feels inhibited talking about such an intimate subject, but you may want to practice the massage techniques with your partner’s help at home! (Facilitated by Shawn.)

Loving your Baby: Preparing to breastfeed

Going beyond the traditional positioning and attachment instruction workshops. What is it like to breastfeed a baby? What can you expect – physically and emotionally? How can you prepare for this new relationship, and increase your chances of making the transition to breastfeeding mother/family easily and happily? Independent midwife Shawn Walker, RM, facilitates an evening of information and discussion, providing you with strategy and confidence as you prepare to welcome your baby. Appropriate for women who plan to breastfeed and their partners/supporters.
